Once upon a time... in a land far, far away, there lived a man and his two daughters. He made their home in a small town in the mountains. There was no mother in this home. She did not die in childbirth or of some horrid disease, as some stories like this go. She had been taken away because of her fear of a beast that lived in the mountains. Her fear consumed her until she could not function, but that is another story for another time.
The father loved his daughters unconditionally. He gave them all that he could and prayed when he didn't know what else to do. They were his princesses. They in return loved him more than life itself.
Time passed and the daughters grew into beautiful women. Now that, my dear friends, is when real life became a problem. Real life is not a fairy tale. Real life is not a story in the Bible. Real life is not a set of rules. There are no equations for doing things that will save one from heartache in real life.
The father died a very untimely death. The daughters grieved and none could console them. Their mother felt the beast return into her life and was helpless to do anything, but pray.
Through the grief and sorrow these women were left with a few great truths to comfort each other...
No one gets out of this life alive. Embrace death as a part of life.
Cherish the good days. Some day these memories will be the only thing left.
Do not fear what others think or say. People just do a lot of unproductive thinking and talking.
To thine own self be true. Use the conscience that is there naturally to guide you through life.
Above all, love as though you really mean it. When all else is said and done, it is your heart that will judge you. Guard it with your life... it is all that you really have.
