The mountains roll on and on. There is a dull noise of crickets and other night creatures. And emptyness. Very empty. Like a well that was pumped dry, the old one sits and just stares without feeling. The only thing that causes a stir is the sound of her offspring moving about. Sometimes the smell of coffee still raises an eyebrow.
Gweenie has been kept busy with the book "Life of Pi" by Yann Martel. Her little eyes move over the pages with great speed. There is an occasional "Eek!" from her.
The Phantom looks up at the stars. They are always there, but tonight they seem so bright. There is a feeling that they will come down from the sky and touch her. One twinkles so brightly. There is a slight recognition in her mind. Still, she only sighs and wishes for some sort of relief. The twinkling star sighs and continues to watch over the earth.
The castle? Who knows? It has been days since the Phantom has contacted anyone. Please feed the critters and water the plants. One day it's owner will return. For now she wanders in the Land of the Past and the Future. All other times must wait. Except for Gweenie. She will never again be banned from this time. If the Phantom lives, she lives...
