As the message boards started shutting down and I had not heard from the little girl with the twinkling eyes, I started to panic. Last minute decisions to go to the beach, things gone wrong in travel... and trying to figure out when an email was sent. There was not much else to do, but wait.
There she was this morning, standing in line to go to her classroom and looking really grumbly. Travel must have been hard, she was close to tears...
"Awww... you miss your poppa?"
"NO!"
"Well, then Mommy and Daddy?"
"No!"
"I see... I missed you did you miss me?"
*icy glare*
"Not even a little bit?"
*huge sigh*
"Well, what did you do in Thailand?"
"I rode a plane and a train and it was too long!"
The other children were excused to go to the computers or check out the salt crystals that were growing on the Discovery Table.
My little brown eyed one leaned against me until she wiggled her way onto my lap. Her eyes looked very tired and there was a lack of sparkle that was with her most of the time. Then she cried. The old one was also reduced to tears.
"Don't be sad...." she finally said.
"Oh, I am not sad... I just was so worried about you!'
"Ooooooo! Don't worry, I didn't fall off the elephant."
"So you rode an elephant?"
"Yesssssss... he was big and dirty!"
"And you didn't fall off?"
"Nope!"
Half way around the world, in a very troubled place, Iggle Star was able to keep this one safe. He didn't even let her fall off the elephant! Thank you Iggle Star... some times the small things are the most important.
